Prizegiving is over - a few people watched the live stream (we are considering trying to do this at each event).
The photos from the podium are here....
First we deal with the event - here is the womens podium

From left to right - Katarzyna Gruzelwska-Losi (Poland / 3 kopainazlota.p) [2nd] - Seiko Fukuoka Naville (France / Les Passagers du Vent) [1st] and Marina Olexina (Russia / Texhopoc / Gin) [3rd]
Then the open podium....

From left to right - Claudio Virgilio (Portugal / Flymaster) [2nd], Lucas Bernardin (France) [1st] and Julien Wirtz (France) [3rd]
And finally the teams

Kortel [2nd] - Ozone [1st] and Advance [3rd]
Unfortunately we do not have a full set of photos from the European podium and it would be wrong to post only partial pictures so the European podium will be reproduced at the Super Final....
Next stop Turkey...
See you soon :-)
Then the open

As an experiment we will be attempting to stream live video of the Prizegiving here in Linhares.
The prizegiving starts at 17:00 - we will publish a link here as soon as the camera is available - the local time in Portugal is shown on the left of the screen.

It was worth a try at the southern take-off but, sadly, we have been defeated by the wind and the day has now been cancelled.
This means that yesterday's overall results are now the final results here in Serra da Estrella.
The results for the Paragliding World Cup 2010 - Event 7 are :-
Open winner, with 2850 points, is Lucas Bernardin (France)
Womens winner, with 2346 points, is Seiko Fukuoka Naville (France / Les Passagers du Vent)
And the winning team for this event is Lucas Bernardin, Charles Cazaux, Seiko Fukuoka Naville and Thomas Brandlehner - Ozone
We have also reached the end of the European Cup (Greece / Italy / Portugal) which means we now have two new European Champions.
The 2010 - Paragliding World Cup Open European Champion is Thomas Brandlehner (Austria)

The 2010 - Paragliding World Cup Womens European Champion is Seiko Fukuoka Naville (France / Les Passagers du Vent)
Congratulations to our winners and, indeed, to all our competitors for making this a great event. The prizegiving will be at 17:00 this evening. Podium photos and the video will follow....keep watching

The north east wind is still blowing which makes the takeoff in Linhares unuseable. The organisation is moving to a different takeoff further south.
There are two available - Azinha or Vale da Amoreira. The decision will be made when they get there and assess the conditions.
The Paragliding World Cup TV crew have been on a round of interviews - here they are...

There is a strong north-easterly wind blowing today and it is not possible to set a task so the day has been cancelled.
There is a medieval festival beginning tonight at 18:00 in the nearby town of Celorico da Beira and running for the whole weekend - it is highly recommended for a visit.
The results have now been updated to include the European Cup results to date.
Paragliding World Cup TV continues - here are the latest installments...
